Do it! There’s lots around at the moment, we have a patch of waste ground near our house that is full of them. They’re huge this year.

I went blackberrying yesterday, and for the frst time in 17 years, found bushes I could reach from my weelchair, such fun. Picking blackberries is one of life’s simple pleasures, eating them is another! ( We stewed ours up wih windfall apples, and had them warm, over ice ceam…..yummmy!)

If you make jelly, stew the brambles with some apples to make it set better.

oooh tough call. I prefer blackberry pie. I mix the raw fruit with sugar and arrowroot before I put it in the pie and it forms a nice sauce that doesn’t make the pastry soggy. But Husb prefers crumble.
