I remember coming in after school, ravenous, and my heart would fall when I saw the windows steamed up and heard the pressure-cooker hissing, and I knew it was stew for dinner. 😦
I hated stew too, my kids love it though, very strange.
If I ever did that, my Mum would take it away, and I’d get it at the next meal…. cold and congealed, or heated up in the oven ( pre microwave era), shrivelled and dried up… yummy!
Hilarious! That’s how I felt as a kid about the peas on my plate—just before flicking them one-by-one into the corners of the kitchen.
