The hardest words.

Myles’ dad died tragically last Thursday night. It is out of respect that I haven’t posted for a few days as we are grieving terribly and it is a very hard time for us as a family.
Telling them was incredibly hard.

  9. This is so very sad and too close for comfort. I often worry about how to say those words when, one day, I will have to, too. Oh my sweet friend. Hold those little ones tight and your dear Man, too. All my love and a Marty hug, Liss. Xxx

  25. I’m sad for you in this difficult time. I think one of the hard things as a parent is finding the right way to talk about these things with kids of varying ages. A 10-year-old needs to hear so much more than a 3-year-old. So you end up needing to have the right words over and over. Thinking of you as you navigate all this.

  30. Dealing with bereavement is tough. We all know it’s a factor of being alive and having people you love, but that doesn’t make dealing with it any easier. I would just like to say that whatever any of you is feeling – any emotion whatsoever – is human, and therefore understandable, and therefore allowable.

Myles, if you can, think of him as having stepped outside for a while.

  37. Oh Angie, I am so, so sorry. I thought something must be wrong, but this is shocking news. All deaths are tragic, but if it was sudden and/or untimely, the shock is so much worse. (This sounds crap- even “expected” deaths are too terrible to bear, but I’m trying, very clumsily, to convey my heart-felt condolences and to you, Myles and your family.) Presumably, you’ll have a funeral to attend in the next few days? It will be so tough for you all, but all your friends here will be thinking of you all, and hoping that you have happy memories to sustain you through these dark days. x
