“Crack it” is what mine say

My siblings and now my kids have all gone through this stage of needing either a nightlight or the door left open a crack. I, on the other hand, find it difficult to sleep if there is any source of light coming into the room. I have always liked the dark.

My kids need just a little bit of light so that they feel comfortable enough to sleep through the night. Either I’ll leave the hallway light on and close the door slightly or I’ll switch on their night light. We have a Winnie the Pooh night light that my eldest daughter still sometimes uses.

I always wanted the door opened “just a little bit”, but now, I can’t stand any light at all- I even wear an eye mask to blot out the tiniest amount of light! Sleep tight tonight, little Gruff! x
