Libraries gave us power…

…robot power. Great picking books when you’re five and obsessed with robot graphic novels.

  1. Ahhh! We love the library.
Our local library was closed for 6 weeks this summer due to renovations and my kids thought it was the worst thing EVER!

  3. When my daughter was little, we used to visit the library nearly every day, and when I was doing a degree as a single parent, it saved on heating and time to drop her off at school, then spend the day in the library, doing my homework, free from the distractions of dirty washing etc. I’m now dependant on a “pusher” ( manual wheelchair, not drugs!), and as my husband hates standing around while I choose anything, and my carer’s time is very limited, it’s more than five years since I’ve been to our library! I miss it dreadfully. On one trip to Scotland, I managed to get my hubby to take me into the tiny library there- just for the thrill of seeing lots of books, even though I couldn’t borrow one! (I do, however, borrow audio books from Calibre, which plop onto my doormat fairly regularly, so am not entirely starved of stories- I just can’t browse or choose my own.)
