I was once a work from home dad with an early morning start work away from home wife. It was my job to get them to school (before we started homeschooling). In desperation, I put the favourite pair of sneakers for child number two, in the microwave to dry. It kind of worked, but we were also late because we had to wait for the shoes to cool down and stop steaming. I get some strange looks when I tell that story, so feel free.
