Still here.

There were lots of gloves on the floor tonight when we walked. Towering cumulonimbus clouds in the sky, like mashed potato crashing into the hill. I was dodging showers between the sun tonight.

I saw a face mask with a red plastic piece in the middle where the air goes in and out. Thrown on the floor and left with the fast food wrappers that have started appearing again since the drive through re opened. The seagulls were delighted and swept down to grab a brown paper bag with a few chips left in for their dinner.

There were towering weeds and clover covered in bees fighting with the gloves. It’s not all bad, life is thriving on a mini-beast level anyway.

We are still only allowed to travel within a five mile radius and shops are still only food and necessities.

There is talk of a brief return to school before summer but not full time, just a check in.

It’s a strange purgatory.

Where’s Bonnie?

Hiding.

I’m back. Took a break while camping.

Always get nervous with a break as the last one lasted years but I’m on such a stronger footing this time. I know that but I always worry that I’ll slip and things will slide again. I suppose that is recovery, knowing you must always be aware and ready.

I suppose we all need a break but art is such an integral part of my personality. It’s something that becomes me but even so, a break from yourself is sometimes a good thing, a time to just recalibrate and even change direction.

Stagnation is my greatest fear and something that always propels me onwards. That nagging voice that brings you back again and again. Regardless of whether you’ll get paid.

So yes, here I am again. Let’s go forward and let’s look forward to more drawing and fun and I’ll put my silly hat back on now.

A mighty girl.

Girls can lift and girls can be strong, including Millie who goes weightlifting every week.
Tonight she came home very happy with her new deadlift personal best, 65 kg.
One very mighty girl. I’m that proud of her, I even let her pick me up (63kg).

Fight club.

I’m not allowed to talk about it.
